The Car History of Alex Beloff III

IMMEDIATELY ARRIVING AT BUNKER AIR FORCE BASE IN PERU INDIANA, A WELL TO DO COUPLE IN THE PRIVATELY OWNER TRAILER PARK DISCOVERED THAT I WAS A CERTIFIED CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH IMPERIAL SALESMAN.  HIS NAME WAS CARL.  HE WAS A STOCK HOLDER IN WABASH COUNTY MOTOR SALES CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH IN WABASH, INDIANA.  HE WAS ALSO THE SENIOR ENGINEER AT CHRYSLER TORQUE FLIGHT TRANSMISSION IN KOKOMO INDIANA.  HE AND HIS WIFE ARE TWO OF THE FINEST PEOPLE I HAVE KNOWN.

CHRYSLER SENDS WHAT WE CALL IN THE MILITARY A TWIX – FLASH MESSAGE WITH MY CREDENTIALS TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH DEALER TO WHERE I HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED.  THIS WAS WABASH COUNTY MOTOR SALES AND I WAS HIRED ON THE SPOT COMPLETE WITH ASSIGNED DEALER PLATES WITH AN EXPECTED LETTER OF PERMISSION FROM MY WING COMMANDER FOR PART TIME EMPLOYMENT.

IN FLORIDA AT BROWN MOTORS CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH I ORDERED A NEW 1966 PLYMOUTH SPORT FURY GOLD WITH GOLD INTERIOR, WHITE VINYL TOP, 426 4-BBL TORQUE FLIGHTS WITH DUAL EXHAUSTS AND FACTORY AIR TO BE DELIVERED TO THE NEAREST DEALER TO THE BASE WHICH AT THE TIME WAS WABASH COUNTY MOTOR SALES.  AFTER HANDLING THE “IN AND OUT” PAPERWORK FOR THE SALE OF MY 1965 IMPALA SS AND SUBSEQUENT TRADE IN AS NO CHARGE COURTESY TO THE MILITARY, THEIR SALES MANAGER – A HUGE BURLY NICE SPOKEN MAN – SAID, WE HAVE A VALUED LONG TIME CUSTOMER WHO IS HOT FOR THE CAR YOU HAVE ORDERED FOR YOURSELF.  WOULD YOU CONSIDER RELINQUISHING THE CAR FOR AN ATTRACTIVE COMMISSION.  I SAID YES, I WOULD DO THAT, BUT I DON’T TAKE MONEY IN THE FORM OF A COMMISSION OR ANY ACCOMMODATION FOR DOING WHAT I FEEL IS RIGHT.  I RELINQUISHED THE CAR TO THEIR CUSTOMER.
