The Car History of Alex Beloff III

FOR YEARS I HAD BEEN SEARCHING FOR THE ONE YEAR ONLY 1967 GRAND PRIX CONVERTIBLE.  MOST HAD RUSTED IN HALF.  THOSE THAT APPROACHED PRISTINE CONDITION WOULD COST A MEGA BUCKS.  I FOUND THE PERFECT CAR THAT I COULD AFFORD WHICH DARYL HAD ON HIS RANCH ALONG WITH A NICE COLLECTION OF GOATS IN METAL BUILDINGS.  THIS WAS A COMPLETE GP CONVERTIBLE PRETTY MUCH RUST FREE.  HEADS AND INTAKE WERE MISSING AND NO 8 LUGS WITH THE USUAL WHISKEY DENTS AND NEGLECT.

A RARE CAR AQUA MARINE VERY LIGHT FACTORY GREEN CONVERTIBLE TOP (WHICH IS GONE) AND PARCHMENT BUCKET SEATS ON A NON-AIR CAR.  $1800 AND IT IS MINE IN 2014 BUT I WAS STILL SEARCHING FOR MY ULTIMATE CAR.  WELL ALVIN – YOU GOT YOUR REVENGE.  MY CONNIE THIS SPRING (2018) SAID, ALEX, YOU’RE TOO OLD TO RESTORE ANOTHER OLD CAR.  WE ARE RESTORING CLAIRE AND THAT’S IT.  SHE’S THE BOSS.  I AM SUPERINTENDANT.   WE WILL ENJOY DRIVING OUR GRANDVILLE BROUGHAM.  I WILL NOT BE TAKING ANY MORE CARS APART IN MY SENIOR YEARS.

THIS 1967 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX WILL BE DONATED TO TIM DYE TO BE DISPLAYED WHEN COMPLETELY RESTORED AT THE PONTIAC MUSEUM IN PONTIAC ILLINOIS.  OFFICIALLY DARYL, TOM BRACKEN LONE STAR POCI CHAPTER, CONNIE AND I WILL MAKE THE PRESENTATION TO TIM A REALITY AT THE 2018 POCI GRAND NATIONAL CONVENTION.

TIM IS DELIGHTED SINCE HE HAS A HIGHLY OPTIONED RED 1967 EXECUTIVE RWD WAGON COMPLETE WITH POWER WING VENTS AS A SISTER VEHICLE TO THE GRAND PRIX.

I WILL BE SOLICITING LIFETIME FRIENDS OF MINE FOR HELP WITH THE COMPLETE RESTORATION WITH THEIR NAMES AFFIXED TO IT FOR THE LARGER DONATIONS.   EVERY “159 CARS” THAT IS PURCHASED ALLOWS $5 TO BE DONATED TO THIS PROJECT.

I CAN JUST SEE IT STANDING TALL COMPLETE WITH 8 LUGS WITH TIM‘S USUAL GREAT STYLING AND DISPLAY EFFORTS IN THE FUTURE.  I LOVE THE IDEA THAT FUTURE GENERATIONS WILL GET TO SEE THIS GRAND PRIX IN ALL ITS GLORY AT THE PONTIAC MUSEUM – AND YOU TOO!
