The Car History of Alex Beloff III

I FOUND THIS RARE AND UNIQUE PONTIAC GRAND AM FOUR DOOR WITH FACTORY AIR.  IT WAS LIKE A GRAND PRIX WITH TWO MORE DOORS.  IT HAD THAT GOOD LOOKING RUBBER NOSE FRONT END BODY COLORED AND AN IMPRESSIVE BUCKET SEAT INTERIOR.  IT WAS SMALLER AND A JOY FOR WOMEN TO DRIVE.  I BUMPED INTO A FELLOW ROTARIAN IN DALLAS WHO OWNED LOTS OF TRUCKS.  I TOLD HIM IT WOULD COST ME $2,600 TO RENT A TRUCK.  HE SAID, I’VE GOT A SOLUTION.  I WILL FLY YOU TO NEW JERSEY TO PICK UP THIS TRUCK I BOUGHT WITH A 26 FOOT BOX AND A HYDRAULIC GATE.  I WILL PAY YOUR FUEL AND LODGING BILLS FOR YOU AND THE FAMILY TO DRIVE IT FROM NEW JERSEY TO GRAND RAPIDS TO DALLAS.

I PACKED THE TRUCK IN LAYERS TO THE CEILING.  THE LAST BICYCLE WENT IN THEN I CLOSED THE DOORS AND WE WERE OFF WITH THE WIFE AND KIDS FOLLOWING IN THE GRAND AM.  WHEN WE GOT TO DALLAS, THE GRAND AM DEVELOPED BADLY WORN VALVE GUIDES AND STARTED BURNING OIL.  IN FACT THAT MY WIFE GOT A TICKET FROM THE DALLAS POLICE FOR A CAR POLLUTING WITH EXCESSIVE SMOKE.  I HAD A SHORT TIME TO GET IT CORRECTED.  HAD THE VALVES GROUND, CORRECTED THE PROBLEM AND IT SERVED TO BE VERY RELIABLE UNTIL A REPLACEMENT COULD BE FOUND.
