The Car History of Alex Beloff III

A WELL KNOWN LADY IN ROSSFORD OHIO CALLED ME AND SAID, ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BUYING MY 1963 GRAND PRIX?  I SAID, ABSOLUTELY.  SHE SAID, WELL YOU HAVEN’T SEEN IT.  I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT BACK AND FORTH TO WORK FOR YEARS AND I WANT TO GET A NEW CAR.  IT NEEDS SOME SERIOUS CLEANING.  IT RUNS FINE.  IT’S NEVER BEEN WRECKED AND NEVER SMOKED IN AND IT NEEDS A SET OF NEW TIRES.  SHE SAID, YOU CAN HAVE IT CHEAP BECAUSE I KNOW YOU ENJOY BRINGING THEM BACK TO LIFE.  IF YOU CAN KEEP IT PRIVATE, YOU CAN HAVE IT FOR $200.   THAT WAS 28 YEARS AGO.

AFTER EXTENSIVE BUFFING, WET SANDING, REMOVAL OF INTERIOR FOR CLEANING AND REPLACING EVERYTHING, IT LOOKED GREAT.  I PUT MY 1959 BONNEVILLE SPINNER WHEEL COVERS ON THE CAR.   A BRAND NEW PADDED DASH NOS IN THE BOX IN SILVER BLUE REPLACED THE CRACKED FACTORY ONE.  THIS FIRST YEAR CONCAVED REAR WINDOW NEW ERA GRAND PRIX WAS HAILED AS THE QUEEN OF THE ROAD.

I BARELY GOT THE WAX WIPED OFF IT AND ANOTHER FRIEND SAID, I WANT YOUR GRAND PRIX.  I AM PREPARED TO OFFER YOU $850, THAT’S ALL THE MONEY I HAVE.  I HOPE IT WILL BE ENOUGH.  I SAID,  NO BUT  IT’S CLOSE.  WE SHOOK AND HE BECAME THE NEW OWNER.
