PICTURED HERE ON BROWN MOTORS CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH SAND LOT WHERE I WAS A PART TIME SALESMAN IS MY HANDSOME 1959 CHRYSLER WINDSOR HARDTOP WITH THE UNIQUE WHITE HALO TRIM. IT IS AN IMPRESSIVELY PERFORMING 383 4 BBL DUAL EXHAUST WITH A DASH PUSH BUTTON TORQUE FLIGHT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.
IT HAD, AS POINTED OUT TO ME BY JOHN AND EDDIE, A RARE 383R BLOCK MEANING I COULD INSTALL 413 CRANK AND RODS AND HAVE A HIGH PERFORMANCE 413 THAT LOOKS LIKE A 383. I DID JUST THAT. I HURT A LOT OF PEOPLE’S FEELINGS IN DRAG RACING STATING THAT IT WAS THE BEST PERFORMING 383 EVER.
WE REPAINTED THE ENTIRE CAR IN A GARAGE. WE DID FORGOT ONE THING. THE HUMIDITY IN FORT WALTON BEACH ATTRACTED THE NICEST COLLECTION OF BIG BUGS THAT CRAWLED ALL OVER THE WET PAINT AND STUCK THERE. WE SANDED THE ENTIRE CAR AND REPAINTED IT UNDER MORE FAVORABLE CONDITIONS. I NEVER DID ANYTHING WITHOUT MR. ED BROWN’S (OWNER BROWN MOTORS) PERSONAL PERMISSION. HE ALLOWED ME TO SELL THE CAR AT A HUGE PROFIT AS I WAS BUYING A NEW 1964. HE WAS HEART BROKEN I DIDN’T BUY A NEW 1964 CHRYSLER 300K. I PURCHASED A GRAND PRIX BECAUSE IT WAS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE VEHICLE INSIDE AND OUT I HAD EVER SEEN.
IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT I NEVER IN MY ENTIRE CAREER CURBED A CAR – THAT IS TO SELL A CAR ON THE SAME LOT OF YOUR EMPLOYMENT ESPECIALLY TO A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER GENERATED BY THAT COMPANY. IT BECAME COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT I WOULD PAY HANDSOMELY FOR SPECIAL INTEREST CARS. THE DEALER WOULD CALL UPON ME TO PURCHASE SUCH CARS AT A PREMIUM TO HELP MAKE THEIR CAR DEAL KNOWING FULL WELL I WOULD NOT SELL THE CAR TO ONE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. (THEY HAVE THEIR WAYS OF FINDING OUT). NEVER TARNISH YOUR REPUTATION BY SCABBING A CAR DEAL. IT’S NOT WORTH IT.)
