The Car History of Alex Beloff III

FENTON THE GSM OF MCGONIGAL BUICK CADILLAC, KOKOMO HAD HEARD OF MY QUALIFICATIONS IN THE HIGH END LUXURY CAR ARENA.  WHEN I SHOWED UP FOR THE HIRING INTERVIEW, I WAS DRIVING MY NEW 1971 CADILLAC COUPE DEVILLE PAID FOR BY ME.   FENTON ENCOURAGED ME TO BUY A NEW BUICK TO SHOW HIS LOCAL CLIENTELE THAT I ALSO FAVORED THE TRI SHIELD VEHICLES.

I ORDERED THE MOST EXPENSIVE ELECTRA LIMITED AVAILABLE.  IT WAS ALMOST THE PRICE OF A NEW CADILLAC SEDAN DEVILLE.  FENTON WAS ALWAYS IMPRESSED WITH HOW I KEEP MY PERSONAL AND DEMONSTRATOR STANDING TALL EVEN ON NASTY WINTER STREETS.

I WAS IN FENTON’S NEW BUICK LIMITED AND HE WAS DRIVING WITH HIS BROTHER IVAN IN THE BACK SEAT (CO-OWNER).  I SAID, HOW ABOUT IF I CLEAN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IN YOUR CAR IN MY THREE PIECE SUIT IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES.  HE SAID, I DON’T BELIEVE IT.  HE PULLED UP TO THIS CLASSY HAND CAR WASH.  WITH ABOUT $6 WORTH OF QUARTERS, I HIT HIS ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH VERY HOT SOAPY HIGH PRESSURE SPRAY TREATMENTS.  THEN ON COLD WATER CLEAR, I RINSED IT THOROUGHLY.  THEY WERE SHOCKED.  IT LOOKED ABSOLUTELY PERFECT UNDER THE HOOD.  CAUTION: ENGINE SHOULD BE HOT OR WARM JUST IN CASE YOU GET SOME MOISTURE IN THE DISTRIBUTOR OR CARBURETOR, IT WILL BOIL OFF QUICKLY.  EVEN BACK THEN, MOST LUXURY CARS WERE WELL SEALED AGAINST MOISTURE FROM POSSIBLE HIGH SPEED DRIVING IN DEEP WATER.  THIS STILL WORKS TO THIS DAY.  FENTON SAID, I WANT EVERY SALESMAN TO DO WHAT ALEX JUST DID.   EVEN SID THE CONTROLLER WAS
IMPRESSED.

ONE OF MY FORMER OWNERS, A VERY FUSSY METICULOUS PERSON WANTED MY ELECTRA BEFORE IT WAS EVEN ORDERED.  I HAD THE REPUTATION FOR NON-SMOKING CARS AND DELIVERING THEM IN THE  FINEST UNBLEMISHED SHOW QUALITY CONDITION WITH EXTREMELY LOW MILEAGE.  THE ELECTRA WENT TO A NEW OWNER WHO WAS THRILLED TO HAVE IT.

NOTE TO RIGHT THE BLACK 1959 PONTIAC CATALINA TWO DOOR POST SEDAN WITH THE 1959 BONNEVILLE THREE BLADED SPINNER WHEEL COVERS THAT WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE AL BELOFF, PERU INDIANA ON THE DOORS.

THAT IS FENTON AND MY TOP BUICK SALESMAN.  I SET VERY HIGH STANDARDS.  I ALWAYS DRESS IMPECCABLY – NOT A WRINKLE ON ME AND SHOES HIGHLY POLISHED.  MY SALES GOALS REQUIRED TALENT, ENDURANCE AND COMMITMENT TO SALES SUCCESS.  I PROMISED THE TOP PRODUCER A NEW BUICK ELECTRA FOR A DEMO.  SALES PEOPLE ONLY DROVE THE LESABRE MODEL.  FENTON WASN’T HAPPY WITH MY PROMISE BUT COULDN’T ARGUE WITH MY SALES SUCCESS.  HE ALWAYS BACKED ME.  HERE HE IS HELPING INSTALL WHEEL COVERS LATE THAT EVENING.  FENTON IS A VERY SHARP DRESSER AND GREAT GUY AS WELL AS A VALUED FRIEND.
