The Car History of Alex Beloff III

HERE YOU SEE THE TRADE IN FOR MY NEW 1968 BONNEVILLE CONVERTIBLE.  THE GENTLEMAN BOUGHT THIS 1966 IMPALA SS CONVERTIBLE BRAND NEW.  IT WAS A NON-AIR CAR.  HE SAID, MY NEXT CONVERTIBLE WILL HAVE TO HAVE FACTORY AIR.  I DON’T CARE WHAT MY FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES SAY ABOUT ME THAT I WAS A BIG SHOT WITH AN A/C CONVERTIBLE IN INDIANA.  WELL THE 1966 WAS MECHANICALLY SOUND.  HE WAS A LOUSY HOUSEKEEPER.  THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND.  HE HAD BEEN EVERYWHERE IN INDIANAPOLIS TRYING TO TRADE. NO ONE WOULD GIVE HIM WHAT HE THOUGHT HIS 1966 SHOULD BRING ON A TRADE.

BEING I WAS A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL AND DID NOT GET HIM AS A CUSTOMER FROM MY DEALERSHIP, I WAS ABLE TO LOOK AT HIS CAR KNOWING HOW IMPRESSIVE IT WOULD APPEAR WHEN I GOT IT READY FOR SALE.  THIS EFFORT AFFORDED ME TO OFFER HIM TOP DOLLAR FOR HIS CAR WHEN NO ONE ELSE COULD SEE TOP DOLLAR IN ITS PRESENT APPEARANCE.

I REMOVED THE ENTIRE INTERIOR INCLUDING BUCKET SEATS AND CONSOLE, ALL THE SCRIPT, NAME PLATES, AND SPINNER WHEEL COVERS WHICH I DISMANTLED FOR CLEANING.  NOTE THIS WHITE INTERIOR IS NOT RE-SPRAYED WHITE.  IT WAS CLEANED BY THE BELOFF TOUCH.  I TOOK CARPETS TO THE LAUNDROMAT TO WASH AND DRY THEM.   THEN I RE-DYED THE BLACK FACTORY CARPETS  TO ELIMINATE DISCOLORATION CAUSED BY THE SUN FROM TOP DOWN DRIVING.  I CAREFULLY REINSTALLED EVERYTHING PROPERLY INCLUDING THE FACTORY CARPETS.  IMPRESSIVE!

IT WAS STUNNING.  NATURALLY I HAD NO TROUBLE ATTRACTING A NUMBER OF BUYERS.

 

KEEP IN MIND THAT BACK THEN CHEVROLET WAS THE NUMBER ONE SELLING CAR IN THE COUNTRY AND PROUDLY PONTIAC CONTINUED TO CAPTURE THE NUMBER THREE SALES POSITION.  I ENCOURAGED MANY CHEVROLET OWNERS TO CONSIDER A PONTIAC POINTING OUT THE INCREDIBLE DIFFERENCE IN FIT, FINISH, QUALITY OF MATERIALS, AND STANDARD WITH A TURBO HYDRAMATIC.

A DETAILED DEMONSTRATION DRIVE DELIVERED INCREDIBLE THROTTLE RESPONSE EVEN IN A PONTIAC 2 BBL TURBO HYDROMATIC.  THIS CREATED A REMARKABLE EXPERIENCE OF EXCITEMENT OVER THE DISAPPOINTING CHEVY POWER GLIDES.  BY RECONDITIONING THE VEHICLE IN THIS MANNER, I ELIMINATED ANY COMPETITION.  I HAD THE ONLY ONE LIKE IT.  THE MAN WHO BOUGHT IT SAID, I HAVE NEVER OWNED A CONVERTIBLE IN MY LIFE.  THIS ONE I HAVE TO HAVE.  HE DROVE HOME A HAPPY MAN.
