The Car History of Alex Beloff III

YOU SEE HERE MY 1956 CADILLAC ELDORADO SEVILLE COUPE ON HIGHWAY 98 ON OKALOOSA BEACH IN FORT WALTON BEACH FLORIDA WITH OHIO PLATES 1963.  TODAY THIS SCENE IS COMPLETELY FULL OF AMUSEMENT FACILITIES AND HOTELS.    THIS WAS A UNIQUE AND RARE CADILLAC.  MY FIRST!

IT WAS FACTORY EQUIPPED WITH TWO 4 BBL, FACTORY AIR, CHROME SABER SPOKE WHEELS AND THE LAST YEAR FOR THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN TO BE FACTORY CHROME PLATED.  I PURCHASED IT FROM JOE DUGAN MOTORS CADILLAC SPECIALISTS, TOLEDO, OHIO.  IT WAS IN BAD NEED OF REPAINT AND UPHOLSTERY WORK BUT IT WAS MECHANICALLY VERY SOUND.

I REDID THE CARBURETORS AND INSTALLED STRAIGHT THROUGH PERFORMANCE DUAL EXHAUSTS.  THE ACCELERATION WAS EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE.  POWER GLIDES AND EARLY FORD-A-MATICS WERE NO MATCH.  I HAD THE CAR COMPLETELY REPAINTED AT MITCHELL OLDS CADILLAC IN PENSACOLA, FLORIDA.

I HAD THE INTERIOR REUPHOLSTERED IN A METALLIC PEARL WHITE AND THE BLACK BROCADE FACTORY CADILLAC MATERIAL WAS PERFECT.  NOTE IMPRESSIVE ELDORADO EMBLEMS EMBEDDED IN THE BACK OF THE SEATS AND THE FACTORY CHROME OVER THE TOP.   I REMOVED THE FOUR METAL RUBBER LINED PLATES FROM THE FLOORS THAT ACTED AS MATS TO SAVE 200 POUNDS.  THE BAT WING FACTORY TWO 4 BBL AIR BREATHER WERE PAINTED WHITE.  THEY NOW BRING $3,500 IF YOU CAN FIND ONE.

YOU WILL NOTE THAT THE TOP IS WHITE.  I REMOVED THE FACTORY PADDED BLACK VINYL ROOF MATERIAL (A SHEET OF RUST UNDERNEATH) AND RETAINED THE MATCHING WHITE. HAVING HAD MANY OFFERS FOR PURCHASE, I FINALLY SOLD THE CAR FOR A HUGE PROFIT ENABLING ME TO PAY AT LEAST HALF DOWN ON A BRAND NEW 1964 GRAND PRIX.

THE CHARM OF THE BUG IS TIMELESS.  1963 IN FORT WALTON BEACH FLORIDA CRUISING DOWN EGLIN PARKWAY I GOT PASSED BY A BEAUTIFUL BRIGHT RED 1963 VOLKSWAGEN BUG WITH WHITE WALL TIRES.  ON THE REAR BUMPER WAS A PLACARD THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET.  IT SAID “YOU JUST GOT PASSED BY 36 HP!”

THIS BUG PHOTO WAS TAKEN BY ME LOOKING OUT MY WINDOW  AT THE  TOLL BOOTH FOR THE OAKLAND BAY BRIDGE IN OAKLAND CALIFORNIA. CARS AND MUSIC GO TOGETHER!
